Hmmmmn

Is waiting and hoping that someone's Karma will really bite them in the ass sometime soon bad Karma?

I know I should focus on my life and what I need to do to make it whole and balanced, but sometimes I get so angry and pray to the Karma god to heap burning coals of outrageously horrendous karma payback on a person's head.

Yeah. Not quite there yet.....

Paraskevidekatriaphobia

Friday the 13th, 'the most widespread superstition'
The sixth day of the week and the number 13 both have foreboding reputations said to date from ancient times, and their inevitable conjunction from one to three times a year (there happens to be only one such occurrence in 2011, in the month of May) portends more misfortune than some credulous minds can bear. According to some sources it's the most widespread superstition in the United States today. Some people refuse to go to work on Friday the 13th; some won't eat in restaurants; many wouldn't think of setting a wedding on the date. (Crystal’s note – might as well, 50% of marriages are doomed anyway. And I think that number’s low)
LEGEND HAS IT: If 13 people sit down to dinner together, one will die within the year. The Turks so disliked the number 13 that it was practically expunged from their vocabulary (Brewer, 1894). Many cities do not have a 13th Street or a 13th Avenue. Many buildings don't have a 13th floor. If you have 13 letters in your name, you will have the devil's luck (Jack the Ripper (uh, I don’t think that was actually his name, but ok), Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, Theodore Bundy and Albert De Salvo all have 13 letters in their names). There are 13 witches in a coven.
LEGEND HAS IT: Never change your bed on Friday; it will bring bad dreams (crap, I always change my bed on Friday). Don't start a trip on Friday or you will have misfortune. If you cut your nails on Friday, you cut them for sorrow. Ships that set sail on a Friday will have bad luck – as in the tale of H.M.S. Friday ... One hundred years ago, the British government sought to quell once and for all the widespread superstition among seamen that setting sail on Fridays was unlucky. A special ship was commissioned, named "H.M.S. Friday." They laid her keel on a Friday, launched her on a Friday, selected her crew on a Friday and hired a man named Jim Friday to be her captain. To top it off, H.M.S. Friday embarked on her maiden voyage on a Friday, and was never seen or heard from again. (Come on. You were asking for it.)

A Very Zen Sunday

Yesterday, Mom and I went out for lunch, to a nice little restaurant in St. George's. It was my treat for Mother's Day.

Inspired by these flowers in their garden, we decided to go the the nursery to pick up some plants to liven up my place a little.
But first, I had to take a picture of this cool ass black yacht in the harbour.

I bought herbs, because I've never had an herb garden and have always wanted one, as well as some very hardy plants to blossom under the neglectful nature and harsh sunlight of the owner, and patio, respectively.
So today, I planted the herb garden on the front porch, and Mom helped me with the large planter in back. We had an extraneous begonia, and in a stroke of genius, I elected to plant it in the discovered copper pot I've been dying to find use for. I think it all came out looking pretty damn good.

So here's hoping that I will have some beautiful flowers to photograph, as well as some fresh herbs to add to my eclectic, inventive cooking...
After the planting extravaganza, I came inside to a lovely cool house and did some wonderfully centering yoga. I feel like a million bucks.

I hope everyone's had a marvelous Mother's Day

Today - Brand New Levi's.....

In a BRAND NEW SIZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dis my bubble...I likes it

I've finally found a nice, safe place for me to be. It involves a very structured routine, and tons of solitude. I've been talking to my therapist and my sister (sometimes the same thing) about my newly evolved fear of stepping out of that. I want to go away. I want to go out, do things, out of my norm. But when I think about doing that, I get frightened, and anxious. It doesn't help that the first time I ventured out of the cave I ran into my ex. Nice one, universe. But as Dr. G pointed out, I survived that, and bounced back nicely, learning things about myself in the process. Even with this example and a few others, I still doubt my ability to venture into the big dark scary world without melting down. I know where I've been, and I don't want to go back there. It sucked. I've been lectured (x 2) about the need to move, the danger of remaining static. I've created this lovely little bubble, this beautiful calm space protecting me from the nasty world. I want to stay here. But I know that I can't.
